Anodising

Anodised aluminium: excellent corrosion protection with an attractive finish.
  • Aluminium
  • 5–25 µm
  • Corrosion protection

Anodised aluminium offers excellent corrosion protection combined with attractive design options. Layer thicknesses of 5 to 25 µm are usually produced. Because the oxide layer has a larger volume, about two thirds of the layer grow into the material and one third is added on top.

For high visual requirements with natural anodising, an anodising-grade aluminium should be chosen, as the colour of the layer depends largely on the alloying elements. The layers have a hardness of approx. 250 HV, are food-safe and offer very good dimensional accuracy. Layers produced at room temperature can subsequently be dyed – see colour anodising.
