During electroless nickeling nickel is discharged from a solution without electricity from an outside source of current. It is based on a reduction of nickel ions reacting with a reducing agent and so the coating is evenly dispersed regardless of complicated geometries.
A great advantage of electroless nickel is that by using a special treatment various properties can be produced on the nickel-phosohorus coatings. Functional electroless nickel coatings are able to prolong e.g. the durability of components which are exposed to high abrasion and corrosion at the same time.
